A Mayweather-Pacquiao Reading List

By Michael Gluckstadt

The excitement surrounding the Mayweather-Pacquiao megafight is matched only by the mountains of content that have been devoted to it. Here at Inside HBO Boxing, we've been covering the fight from the moment it was announced. We also examined the fighters' common opponents and offered non-boxing fans a guide to the event's magnitude.

Here are some of the pieces from other sources that have caught our attention in the build-up to the fight:

Grantland's Rafe Bartholomew looked at the entirety of Manny Pacquiao's career, back to his days fighting in the Philippines as a teenager. Also at Grantland, HBO Boxing Insider Eric Raskin considered five different scenarios for how the fight might play out.

The newly-launched True.Ink has had a wealth of fight week content. Jason Schwartzman wrote an enlightening profile of Floyd's relationship with his father and trainer, Floyd Sr. They've also run a fascinating series of video interviews with Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach on topics as varied as love and his upbringing.

Greg Bishop of Sports Illustrated has been reporting from inside Floyd's camp, including this story about his bodyguards. The New York Times managed to find an entirely new angle on Mayweather, with a profile about the sad story of the last man to defeat him. Meanwhile, Gawker's Hamilton Nolan has been sharing his experience of covering fight week without a media credential.
