Though its start time is geared toward accommodating US markets, the welterweight battle between Manny Pacquiao and Brandon Rios is all the talk in Macau, China. Signs and posters promoting the bout drape seemingly every wall at The Venetian Macao, where busloads of fans are already arriving in anticipation of the fight.
Outside the casino, local fans are just as excited about the event. "I am glad that there's a big match in my area," said Joseph Ngo, a 31-year-old Filipino bartender working in Hac Sa Beach. "A lot of people in the community are Filipino workers. And it's only an hour and 45 minutes away. We love Manny because he put us on the map. Of course, he is going to win."
